Because students typically have more time to write on the weekends, I edit Monday–Friday. During the week I give students shorter assignments along with daily feedback and guidance, but on Fridays, students get a longer assignment to complete over the weekend. If quick questions pop up on Saturday or Sunday, students are welcome to text or email. Family commitments, however, prevent me from giving more involved tasks (revisions, detailed guidance, etc.) my best work on the weekend―for example, if a student completes the weekend assignment on Saturday, I am not able to respond with edits/tracked changes until Monday.
